If you like your rock music with a heavy dose of island breezes, a little reggae and some laid back funk, then you will certainly dig on Iration. The potent combination of their signature hybrid demonstrates an unwavering commitment to great music, often coloring slightly outside any preconceived sonic borders through the use of an occasional heavy-handed riff or accentuated percussion. It's a magical amalgam, conjuring images of good times and beautiful people.
Few bands of similar ilk manage to bypass the sophomoric stage of development, and many contemporaries lean too heavily on reggae influences, skewing too far toward board of tourism commercialism that seems contrived and forced. Iration is far more musically convincing than any of their over-starched reggae-wannabe brethren. Their maturity is derived through exceptional lyric structure, subtle melodic deviations and immaculate harmonies. It's nothing too formulaic that comes across as overly precise, however. The band's youthful exuberance remains intact, strengthened by a truly professional sound.
In live performance, Iration swells like a cresting wave, always playing before consistently large, participatory crowds. That is usually a byproduct of good music, but it is also inclusive of their telepathic interplay. That type of teamwork shows true sophistication, especially in a genre that is conducive to free form exploration and random spontaneity. In fact, the professional characterization of this band is its impeccable synergy, a trait that is ever-present within individual tunes and songs as a whole and one that is evident with every concert performance.

Iration's Jivewired Bio: Iration is an alternative/reggae group of musicians formed in Isla Vista, CA. The group is made up of members Joseph Dickens (drums), Joseph King (Engineer), Cayson Peterson (Keyboard/Synth), Micah Pueschel (Guitar/Vox), Kai Rediske (Vocal/Percussion) and Adam Taylor (Bass). All members met while growing up in Hawaii but formed Iration after reconnecting in Santa Barbara, Ca. The true essence of Iration is best captured live where they are able to fully demonstrate their original brand of soulful, melody driven reggae, pop and rock.
In 2012, Iration finished recording their 3rd full length album, Automatic. The album combines elements of reggae, rock and pop to create a truly unique listening experience. Automatic includes production and instrumentation from Lincoln Parish, the guitarist from Kentucky's band Cage the Elephant, as well as the band’s previous studio, partner JP Hesser. The album also includes guest appearances by keyboardist Rami Jaffee (Wallflowers, Foo Fighters) and Jessy Greene (Foo Fighters, Wilco, Atmosphere) on strings. The first single from Automatic, “Porcupine,” was released September 11, 2012 on the band’s own 3 Prong Records and has since been in rotation on multiple radio stations in Southern California, CO Springs, and AL.
Iration have been touring nationally since 2008, have performed at festivals such as Lollapalooza, Wakarusa and the Sierra Nevada World Music Festival. They have headlined several successful national headline club tours that have included multiple sold out shows throughout the country. In an effort to begin promoting new music, Iration embarked on a US western regional headline tour with support from east coast friends Passafire and So Cal's Pacific Dub in 2013. Iration, all Hawaiian-raised musicians, looks forward to spreading their original sound and aloha spirit across the globe while never forgetting to get a surf in whenever possible.

One Sentence Album Review: "Automatic is a tasty album melding soundscapes of rock, reggae, R&B and even dub, and is the band's best work to date, a true long player that captures Iration's wonderful organic aesthetic."
-- Jivewired.com
"The beauty of Iration’s “all of the above” approach is that it is unique and refreshing, as well as unpredictable -- which makes Automatic accessible to new fans while keeping the old ones satisfied."
-- Kit Chalber, The Pier
